Tanning her hide

Caitlin, for the past couple weeks, has been tanning her cow hide. At first when I heard that she was going to be "Tanning" her cow hide, I immediately thought it was impossible....because there was no sun. Then I realized it was completely different than what I thought it was going to be. First, you don't set it out in the sun to "tan", and second, there are scraping and chemicals involved.  It is a very good experience for Caitlin, and I am sure she loves her work! :)
